Midwest Regional Public Finance Conference |
In 1996, the Kansas Public Finance Center and the Center for Urban Studies conducted the first Midwest Regional Public Finance Conference. The annual conference takes place each February in Wichita and attracts finance professionals primarily from Kansas, but also Oklahoma and Missouri, and utilizes nationally recognized speakers on cutting-edge public finance topics. Conference sessions address the financial affairs of municipalities, counties, schools, community college, state agencies, municipal utilities and special authorities.

Kansas Government Finance Officers Association In response to interest among public finance officers in expanding opportunities for professional development, the Kansas Public Finance Center began conducting regional workshops on public finance at various locations throughout Kansas. When the Kansas Government Finance Officers Association (KSGFOA) was established in 2000, the Finance Center was asked to manage and conduct two professional development workshops and a fall conference each year for Association members.
