City Clerks (CCMFOA)

City Clerks and Municipal Finance Officers Association of Kansas
Since 1991, the Center for Urban Studies has managed and conducted professional development for the City Clerks and Municipal Finance Officers Association of Kansas. Professional development is conducted through the Kansas/International Institute of Municipal Clerks Certification Institute and Master Academy, and the spring conference of the Association.

City & County Managers (KACM)

Kansas Association of City/County Management
The Center for Urban Studies conducts and manages the Winter Seminar of the Kansas Association of City/County Management (KACM) on an annual basis.  Each seminar meets an ICMA requirement for professional development and continuing education.

County Clerks (KCC & EOA)

Kansas County Clerks’ and Election Officials’ Association
In 1992, the Kansas County Clerks’ and Election Officials’ Association (KCC&EOA) invited the Center for Urban Studies to collaborate in the design and development of a certification institute for county clerks in Kansas.  The result was the Sanborn Institute, a three-year institute covering professional development in public management, interpersonal skills, and technical skills.   In 1995, the Sanborn Master Academy was added to offer continuing education for certified county clerks.

Kansas Government Finance Officers (KSGFOA)
Kansas Government Finance Officers Association
In response to interest among public finance officers in expanding opportunities for professional development, the Kansas Public Finance Center began conducting regional workshops on public finance at various locations throughout Kansas.  When the Kansas Government Finance Officers Association (KSGFOA) was established in 2000, the Finance Center was asked to manage and conduct two professional development workshops and a fall conference each year for Association members.
