Examples of topic areas include leadership, supervisory skills, time management, customer service, stress management, public sector ethics, and strategic planning for leaders. Faculty and staff in the Center for Urban Studies are available to serve as neutral facilitators at a variety of meetings. Requests often come from local governing bodies, community agencies and organizations, and community interest groups. Faculty and staff are available to engage in applied research to assist communities and organizations address issues identified by state, local and community leaders. These can include areas such as community and organization surveys, community assessments, technical assistance, public safety (fire and police services), government performance, public health, professional management in government and the nonprofit sectors, water resources, and economic development.
