City Clerks and Municipal Finance Officers Association of Kansas
Since 1991, the Center for Urban Studies has managed and conducted professional development for the City Clerks and Municipal Finance Officers Association of Kansas. Professional development is conducted through the Kansas/International Institute of Municipal Clerks Certification Institute and Master Academy, and the spring conference of the Association.

The Certification Institute is divided into four classes (years 1, 2, 3 and 4) that convene for a week each year to complete training in an established curriculum; the Master Academy provides continuing education for certified municipal clerks on special topics over a two day period. The Certification Institute and Master Academy take place during the same week every November.

The annual spring conference of the Association attracts city clerks and municipal finance officers from 150 Kansas cities to Wichita each March. Each year the conference focuses on current issues and provides concurrent small-group sessions to meet continuing education requirements.
